Privacy policy
This site collects as little as it can get away with. This page says exactly what that is, in plain language rather than in the language of a form you are meant to skim.
Who runs this site
Casa Frondosa is a privately owned house in Portasol, Portalón, in the province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. The site is built and maintained on the owners' behalf by Raices del Bosque. Inquiries sent through the site go to the owners and to the property managers who look after the house.
What we collect
When you just read the site
Nothing that identifies you, unless you agree to it. No analytics, no advertising tags and no tracking cookies load until you press accept on the banner. If you decline or ignore it, none of them ever run and the site works exactly the same.
Our host, Cloudflare, keeps short-lived server logs that include IP addresses. Those exist so the site stays online and to stop abuse, not to build a profile of you.
When you agree to analytics
We load Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly which country they are in. IP addresses are anonymized. We may also load Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used so we can see where the site is confusing. We do not use either to identify individual people, and we do not run advertising pixels of any kind.
When you send an inquiry
You give us your name, your email address, the dates you are interested in, the size of your group, and whatever you write in the message box. The form is handled by Formspree, which passes the message on by email. If you message us on WhatsApp instead, WhatsApp holds that conversation under its own terms.
What we do with it
We answer you. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell your details, we do not pass them to anyone who is not involved in answering your inquiry or looking after your stay, and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.
How long we keep it
Inquiries are kept while we are talking to you and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you come back to us. Ask us to delete yours and we will.
Your choices
- You can withdraw consent to analytics at any time on the cookie policy page.
- You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- You can ask us to stop contacting you.

Children
This is a site about renting a house. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the new version will be on this page.
